Local organization seeks board members

Families Helping Families of Acadiana sent out the communication below last week. Consider if you know anyone who may have the time and skills to help out a worthwhile agency. To learn more about the organization’s mission and work, visit www.fhfacadiana.org.

“Families Helping Families of Acadiana is seeking individuals for membership on our Board of Directors. If you are interested in the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in all facets of society; the provision of appropriate services to members of the disabilities community; and collaboration with community stakeholders to maximize the use of resources in our region, we need your vision and leadership to help our agency achieve even greater effectiveness in serving the people of Region 4.

Our region includes the parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, and Vermilion. Family members of people with disabilities are encouraged to apply for Board membership. Please contact Families Helping Families of Acadiana at 337-984-3458, or e-mail at fhfacad@cox-internet.com.”

Stamp out hunger this Saturday!

The United Way of Acadiana has partnered with the National Association of Letter Carriers to collect non-perishable food items this Saturday, May 9th.

You can help by leaving a bag of non-perishable food near your mailbox on Saturday, and your postman will take care of it from there.

For more information, visit the United Way of Acadiana website.
